Horse riding:

(click on a photo to see it full size)

The horseriding tours are guided to the mountains surrounding the village of Pisco Elqui, further up the valley to Alcohuaz or to the neighbouring valley of Cochiguaz.

Even newcomers can enjoy this special experience. There is always a "crash course" at the beginning of each tour.

To feel relaxed during (and after) the trip it is very important to take the exact measurement of the stirrups)

These trips allow you to get in direct and full contact with the local farmers, their ways of life and their customs.

In the hills and mountains of the valley you will have a different kind of experience: we will see pure untouched nature, the majestic world of the Andes with its colours and forms, the typical climate of the semi-desert, the fauna and flora. You can enjoy phantastic panoramic views and a sky called the clearest sky all over the planet.

a break at the summit

Because of these clear skies we can watch the world's most splendid natural observatory - we only have to get away from the lights of the village...

To ride into the mountains it is important that you don't have strong vertigo, because there are precipices and places where you simply can enjoy your adrenaline.

But also for newcomers or clients with vertigo we can offer trips without precipices - there are offers for all desires and conditions.

The trips include:

  • local horse, 100% reliable and expert in mountain paths,
  • guidance by a real "huaso" (Chilean cowboy)
  • Chilean style saddle and mounting equipment,
  • instruction.

price:  7.000 Chilean Peso per hour and person
(here you find a currency converter)

Important to take with you:

  • Shoes apt for the stirrups (not too voluminous, but firm)
  • Comfortable and resistant trousers (long, preferable jeans)
  • Cap or hat
  • sun blocker
  • Camera
  • Desire to enjoy the experience and good moods
